The Berlin artist Brigitte Waldach engages herself in her multimedia project "searching red" with viewing material from the realm of literature, art history, and media. Her main points of reference as regards content are Stanley Kubrick and Samuel Beckett. Her reinterpretations are focused on the two factors of space and figure: she spins complex, surreal stories involving multiple personalities and creates mysterious, at times absurd parallel worlds.
The graphic precision of her work communicates in a suspenseful way with the reduced composition and the limitation to the symbolladden colour Red, as does the lightness of the surface with the rich associations and the depths of the content.
